Discovering life in the galaxy

Set in a futuristic world, The Outer Worlds is a single player game that will let you explore the galaxy in your quest to preserve life. Waking up after a long and deep slumber, this role-playing game will send you out on missions in order to discover the truth behind an alleged conspiracy that can put humanity’s future at risk. Expect to see wonderfully bizarre things like weird-looking aliens and unbelievably advanced technology in this sci-fi world.

You’re a survivor

The Outer Worlds follows the adventures the main character, a lone soul who wakes up from a decade-long slumber while the rest of the pod are still hibernating. From here on your journey will start and you will be meeting other characters in the game. They will be your accomplices and companions throughout the gameplay as you take on missions that will lead you closer to the truth behind the corporation responsible for the colonization of alien planets. These missions are gateways for you and your companions to level up and unlock new skills that will prove to be beneficial. That is to say that each companion in your small band of space explorers have their own expertise. The technical skills that you need to develop are divided into different categories namely Engineering, Science, and Medicine. Completing missions and defeating enemies will harness you points that can be used to level up a skill, which will prove to be a gamechanger when you encounter scenes that call for combat.

When it comes to the development of the storyline, bear in mind that every decision you make will have an impact on how the story will go. Even choosing the right words to say when in a conversation with your companions will affect your relationship with them. This also includes the actions and responsibilities you must not forget while playing. It is crucial for you to be able to keep your team’s morale high by raising your members’ inspiration and determination.

An out of this world experience

You will really feel like you have leaped light years from the present and into an entirely different future when playing this game; there are alien creatures that you have never seen before roaming around an equally foreign-looking land, the cities scream cyberpunk, and the people are equipped with the coolest advanced weapons that can shoot lasers. The Outer Worlds’ graphics are to die for with its realistic 3D setup. It makes the game cinematic and aesthetically pleasing, giving you more reasons to continue exploring until you reach the very end.

User reviews about The Outer Worlds

by Daniel Gray

This game is as if Fallout and Firefly had a secret love child, and peppered it with some of the aesthetics of Borderlands. It's got funny dialogue, good voice acting and a deep, single-player experience. This last thing cannot be overstated, as not everyone who games cares about multiplayer mode, and decent single-player experiences are few and far between as of late.
